Safety and Emergency Preparedness Fair

WHAT’S IT ABOUT: Take the opportunity to prepare your family for a natural disaster. Local and state agencies will present what can be expected in the event of a disaster, and give tips on how to prepare. Exhibitors will include: the Department of Emergency Management, Skagit County CERT, HAM radio, Skagit County Sheriff’s, Mount Vernon Fire Department, the state Department of Social and Health Services, Red Cross, Sea-Mar, Employment Security Department, Opportunities Industrialization Center of Washington, L&I Wellness Program, L&I Division of Occupational Safety and Health safety consultants, L&I Wellness Program representatives. Others still being organized: Mountain House and Skagit Valley Hospital. FOOD: Local vendor Big Daddy’s Hot Dogs will have hot dogs and soda for sale. Note: 10 percent of all proceeds are donated to the local food bank.
