Static Films presents Breakup Season, featuring the hometown premiere of actress Carly Stewart -- here in person for both shows! A young man brings his girlfriend to his rural Oregon hometown for Christmas and to meet his family, but upon arriving, things do not go as planned and an argument leads to a breakup. However, because of the winter weather, his newly minted ex is now stuck with him and his family for the rest of the holiday season. Comedy, drama, and serious heartbreak ensue. Breakup Season is a new feature film written and directed by H. Nelson Tracey, produced by Static Films of Los Angeles, and shot in La Grande, Oregon. Independently produced and financed, the film has made its way through the film festival circuit ahead of a theatrical and at-home release this winter. To date, Breakup Season has won over 20 awards, including "Best Feature Film" at nine different film festivals nationwide. We are pleased to be bringing Breakup Season to the hometown of actress Carly Stewart, who plays the scene-stealing younger sister Liz in the film. Carly Stewart won Best Supporting Actress at the Blue Whiskey Film Festival in Chicago last April and has been getting rave reviews for her role in this film. This may be her first performance in a feature, but her acting career began 20 years ago at the Lincoln Theatre performing in local plays! We are honored to be showcasing a full circle moment and screening this film in the same venue which kickstarted her love of acting and performance. Carly Stewart will be on hand for a Q&A following the film, alongside writer/director H. Nelson Tracey.
